1970s Vintage Granny Square Dress & Beret Hat Crochet Pattern: Giant afghan square motif gives a touch of folk trend to sleeveless shift dress. Bold stripes on the yoke, skirt, beret are in chain stitches and double crochet.

Size: Directions for small 8-10; changes for medium (12-14) are in parentheses.

Note: Needles and gauge determine size.

Body Bust: 31 1/2- 32 1/2 (34-36) inches.

Materials: Bernat Berella Germantown, 2 2 oz balls each of natural (A), citron mist (B), camel (C), caramel (D), and brown (E).
Crochet hook size F/3-4 for small size; size G/5 for medium size (or English size 8 or 7.)

Gauge: 5 sts = 1 inch; 2 rows = 1 inch (size F hook). 9 sts = 2 inches; 1 row = 4 inches (size G hook).
