1970s Vintage Family Stockings Crochet Pattern In Afghan Stitch: To each his own stocking, ready to receive little gifts. In afghan stitch, with designs crocheted in, front and back, stockings make great holiday decorations.
Note: The stockings are done in afghan stitch, using a longer crochet hook that resembles a knitting needle, Tunisian crochet. Instructions for afghan stitch are included but you will need an afghan hook.
Size: 22 inches long. Baby’s stocking, 19 inches long.
Materials: Knitting worsted weight yarn.
For Sis Stocking: 3 ozs green, 1 oz each white and red; small amount of peach and black.
Two plastic eyes.
For Mom Stocking: 3 ozs red, 1 oz each white, green and yellow.
Gold and red sequins.
For Dad Stocking: 3 ozs green, 1 oz each white, brown and red; small amount of yellow and black.
Three plastic eyes.
A few small sequins.
For Baby Stocking: 3 ozs white, 1 oz each of green, red and yellow; small amount of mint, lavender, orange, light blue and fuchsia.
Afghan hook size I (5 1/2 mm).
Yarn needle.
Gauge: 4 sts = 1 inch; 7 rows = 2 inches.
