1980s Vintage Puppy Paws Afghan Stitch Crochet Pattern: This adorable puppy afghan, done in afghan stitch, is an ample size to fit a full-size crib. The puppy fills the center and paw prints create a border all around. The red- and-black color scheme is cheerful for any child’s room, but you might like to use one of the alternate color combinations included for a different look.

Note: The center of afghan is done in afghan stitch/Tunisian crochet, using a longer crochet hook that resembles a knitting needle. Instructions for afghan stitch are included but you will need an afghan hook.

Size: Approximately 50 x 60 inches.
Unger’s Utopia 4-ply acrylic (worsted weight yarn) (3.5 oz, 240 yd balls) 9 balls of MC (white),
2 balls of A (red), 1 ball each of B (black), C (beige), D (blue).
Afghan Crochet Hook: 10-J (6 mm) or size needed for correct gauge.
Crochet Hook: 10-J (6 mm).
Tapestry needle.

Gauge: 7 sc = 2 inches; 3 rows = 1 inch.
