1970s Vintage Nautical Afghan Crochet Pattern: The nautical afghan in red, white, and blue is composed of twenty blocks in afghan-stitch crochet: five blocks with sailboats, five with anchors, the designs crocheted in, and ten plain blocks of solid blue.
NOTE: The afghan is done in afghan stitch/Tunisian crochet, using a longer crochet hook that resembles a knitting needle. Instructions for afghan stitch are included but you will need an afghan hook.
Afghan Size: Approx 46 x 73 inches.
Materials: Sweater and afghan yarn, 15 2-oz skeins navy (MC), 2 skeins white (W) and 1 skein red (R).
Afghan hook size J.
Gauge: 9 sts = 2 inches; 7 rows = 2 inches.
