Mens Sweater Crochet Pattern Granny Square Motifs, Knit Bands

1970s Vintage Men’s Motif Sweater Crochet Pattern (knitted bands): Multi-colored granny square motifs are sewn together, then framed with in the main color, yoke and sides are solid crochet. The lower band, sleeve bands, and neckband are knitted then sewn on.

Size: Medium 36-38, large (40-42) are in parentheses.
Body Chest Size: 36-38 inches (40-42 inches).
Blocked Chest Size: 39 inches (44 inches).

Materials: Brunswick Pomfret (4-ply sport yarn), 10 (11) 2-oz balls cream, main color (MC); 10 ozs assorted colors.
Crochet hook size E (G) or 3.5 mm (4 mm).
Knitting needles No. 5 (7) or 3.75 mm (4 mm).

Gauge: Medium: Each motif = 4 3/4 inches square; 9 dc = 2 inches;
2 rows dc = 1 inch.
Large: Each motif = 5 1/4 inches square; 4 dc = 1 inch; 2 rows dc = 1 1/4 inches.
Twisted ribbing: 6 sts = 1 inch (No. 5 needles);
11 sts = 2 inches (No. 7 needles).

Note: Both sizes are made the same. Hook, needle size and gauge determine size.
