1960s Vintage Ribbed Helmets Knitting Pattern: Adult and child’s pullover helmet hat with open face or face protector, can be rolled up to wear as a toque. One color or striped.
Child’s size: To fit 6 to 12 years.
Adult’s size: To fit 22 inch head size.
Materials: Patons Canadiana Superwash Wool or Patons Canadiana Sayelle (50 g): 3 balls of one colour for adult’s or children’s size.
For stripes at top, allow about 1/2 ball contrasting colour.
Two No. 9 (3 3/4 mm) and two No. 8 (4 mm) knitting needles or size to produce the tension given below.
Tension: 5 1/4 sts and 7 rows = 1 inch with No. 8 needles in stocking st.
