The hammock is just a large rectangle of double crochet stitches and chains made of dacron (better since it doesn’t stretch) or nylon cord.
Requires working with wood and a drill.
Size: Approx 3 by 8 feet
Materials: Seven 1-pound rolls of white nylon or dacron seine twine, size 36.
The hammock will require 6 rolls of the cord, or approximately 1,080 yards.
The 7th roll of cord will be used to form the ends.
Two rings, 3 inches in diameter
Eight feet of 1-by-2-inch hardwood for the spreader
Epoxy or strong fabric glue
Crochet hook J-10 (6 mm) (or hook to give proper gauge)
Drill
Gauge: 1 double crochet and 3 chains = 1 inch; 1 row 1 inch
